Wind Farms seem to be the most sought after renewable energy out there at the moment. More news comes out about that type than any other than I know of.

i predict that no one energy source can replace fossil fuels. realistically, i can see a future powered by a mix: biofuel, nuclear breeder, solar, orbital solar, wind, wave, geothermal, etc etc
